Brian has over 25 years experience in publishing with EMAP and the Midland News Association where he began his career with the Shropshire Star Newspaper, before moving to the Express & Star in Wolverhampton. Here he was appointed to become Display Advertising Manager, a position he held for nearly 10 years, before enjoying promotion to Advertising Manager and serving on the board of Directors on Britain`s largest circulating regional newspaper.

It was in this period that he nurtured the concept of developing a niche media organisation to focus on junior sports people to celebrate and encourage them and their participation in a healthy sporting environment.

Prior to his career in world of publishing, Brian spent 5 years as a professional footballer with West Bromwich Albion and Exeter City before moving into non league football with his home town club Telford United before ending his playing career with Newtown in Mid Wales.

Rob has widespread sporting interests particularly rugby, having played and coached for many years. He believes that having a secure and clear welfare framework within which a sport operates protects not only the young people, but also the adults involved, and the wider organisation. He is therefore keen to ensure that those working with Kidz in Sport maintain the highest standards of conduct and professionalism at all times.

Mike Robinson - Editor

Mike Robinson is Shropshire born and bred, and first played football at Bellan House School in Oswestry, where the coach was the ex-Stoke City star George Antonio. Mike captained the Oswestry High School First XI who won the county title in 1970, and later that year was a member of the Shropshire squad at the English Schools Football Festival at Skegness.

He was a striker for West Felton in the West Shropshire League and fullback for Sun FC in the Wem Sunday League, but gave up playing in his early 20s when he admitted defeat in his battle with the scales. Mike has always kept up his involvement in the game on an administrative level, and was a Sunday League referee for five years in the early 80s. He is currently the chairman and long-suffering linesman of Oswestry Cricket Club FC.

On a professional level, he retired last March after a 37-year career in journalism, having been deputy editor of the Shrewsbury Chronicle and editor of the South Shropshire, Hereford and Mid Wales Journal series. As a proud Salopian, Mike is a fan of Shrewsbury Town and is a regular contributor to the matchday programme. He also supports Manchester City.
